Phoebe
Phoebe is a perfect example of what Majestic Canine Rescue is all about. Phoebe was a young Shar Pei mix that was abandoned at a high-volume shelter. She had been mistreated in her past, and was confined in a small space with little exercise. This did little to improve her already aggressive temperament. She attacked other dogs in the shelter and tried to bite staff members. As a result, she was deemed “unadoptable” and scheduled to be euthanized. A rescue volunteer heard about Phoebe, and pulled her from the shelter just hours before her time ran out. The volunteer had rescued similarly aggressive dogs in the past, and she was able to rehabilitate them.
Unfortunately, Phoebe was more traumatized than anticipated, and her aggressive behaviors became too much to handle. The volunteer tried everything she could think of, but received little to no help. Several places she contacted told her there was nothing she could do, and to put Phoebe down. Fortunately for Phoebe, she didn't listen. Eventually she contacted Majestic Canine Rescue, and was surprised to find that we were the first to even consider talking about Phoebe's issues. We were able to help her, taking Phoebe in and working with her.
It took several months of trust and commitment, but Phoebe is finally living out the rest of her life in a very loving forever home.
